We are excited to share that PCQC has identified its next registry solution and has begun implementation of the software and operations needed to support the PCQC Registry. We appreciate your patience as we have navigated this complex process. We considered all of our members' current and future needs and we are confident that the new PCQC Registry will provide better experiences for our members moving forward.

As we have conveyed, our priorities in identifying our next registry solution were comparable levels of security, improved user experience, and the ability to continue to utilize the EHR integration specifications already in use. With those in mind, the new PCQC registry will function as follows:

  • Security: All data will be stored in a HITRUST-certified Amazon Web Services (AWS) S3 database. PCQC will work with security experts to ensure that all necessary provisions are in place to meet security standards.
  • Improved User Experience: Qualtrics, a HITRUST-certified platform, will be used for manual data entry and will allow for the prioritization of required and core data elements. Reports for all Premium members will be generated and facilitated on a regular basis by the PCQC Team to be responsive to the needs of all our members utilizing Tableau data visualization tools.
  • Continuity of EHR integration specifications: We will utilize an AWS SFTP tool to accept data to be stored in our secure database and will allow for existing integration standards to continue to be used.

For our Premium members (those completing clinical data entry), here is what to expect for next steps:

  • Data Migration: For all members, any data currently hosted by ArborMetrix will be securely migrated to the PCQC S3. For those that have entered data into the registry and have signed Information Security Agreements with PCQC, we will reach out to you directly to discuss steps before migrating data.
  • Manual Data Entry: We are currently working on implementation of Qualtrics, which we expect to be completed soon. We understand the unique urgency of maintaining a data collection platform for you and will send communications to manual data entry members to schedule onboarding and training as soon as implementation is complete.
  • EHR Integration: For members who have developed specifications for EHR integration, we expect to be able to use the specifications for the ArborMetrix platform and do not anticipate any significant changes to these specifications. Once implementation is complete, we will utilize an AWS SFTP tool to accept data which will be stored in the S3. The PCQC team will send communications once this is available.
  • Reports: Working with data visualization experts, PCQC will generate reports on a scheduled basis and email de-identified reports to members on that schedule. In the short term, there will not be an on-demand interface for members to generate reports. However, we are confident that this new solution will provide members with the reports they expect with more flexibility for expansion and customization in the future.

Development of these features is being completed in phases so we can complete implementation of the new PCQC Registry as efficiently as possible. We will continue to provide updates as we progress and send important details as they become available. Additionally, PCQC will continue to host regular Office Hours to answer any questions you may have.

PCQC Members are invited to participate in Office Hours on  January 9, 2024 at 2pm ET to learn more or ask questions about the PCQC Registry and the information outlined in this email.

As a reminder, access to the existing registry on ArborMetrix will be available until December 31, 2023. Although we will transfer all available data to the new Registry, we strongly encourage members to download any reports needed before that date. You can review this user guide for additional instructions.

We thank you for your feedback, patience, and support during this period of transition and are confident that the new PCQC Registry will elevate the experience of PCQC membership moving forward.
