Learn More About the Palliative Care Quality Collaborative
The Palliative Care Quality Collaborative (PCQC) is a non-profit membership organization that supports the only national unified specialty palliative care quality data registry and collaborative. The PCQC combines the power of clinical and program data reporting to drive quality and performance improvement in clinical care. The goal of PCQC is to improve the quality of care delivered to people with serious illness and the people that support them.
We believe that the way to enact positive change is to provide palliative care clinicians, leaders, and administrators with the right resources to fairly and efficiently evaluate and improve upon program performance. PCQC delivers timely and useful patient- and program-centered data tools that identify and promote best practices through reporting, as well as a curated learning collaborative to transform data into performance improvement though structured learning sessions, collaborative research, peer networking, and a supportive community of palliative care stakeholders.
PCQC was incorporated in 2019 through a partnership between the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine (AAHPM), the Center to Advance Palliative Care (CAPC), the National Palliative Care Research Center (NPCRC), the former Palliative Care Quality Network (PCQN), the former Global Palliative Care Quality Alliance (GPCQA), and Four Seasons with generous funding provided by the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation and the Cambia Health Foundation.
Since its incorporation, PCQC has accomplished the following:
- Launched the first, nationally unified Palliative Care data registry
- Successfully migrating former registry participants to the new PCQC Registry
- Created three membership levels, welcoming Basic, Advanced, and Premium Members
- Developed regular programming for the Premium Members of PCQC
- Established two responsive mechanisms to enter clinical data into the Registry (manual and electronic health record integration)
Premium Members have access to valuable educational and networking opportunities. Premium Members are provided with monthly opportunities to connect with fellow PCQC Premium Members to improve and to support the translation of the PCQC data into actionable data through webinars, networking, strategy exchanges, best practices, and QI implementation.
